WHO WE ARE

The Upper Iowa Training Club, a 501(c)(3) organization, was established in 1995 for the betterment of our canine friends through public education, community activities, and various canine-related events.

We are a group of dog enthusiasts living among the Midwest. We come together from all walks of life with a common bond: we enjoy our dogs and the people connected with them.

As an AKC affiliated Club, we are excited to bring events to the Decorah area and the surrounding community. Our club is most known for hosting rally and obedience trials with amazing judges and friendly staff.

OUR MISSION

To further the advancement of all breeds of purebred dogs with all of our power to protect and advance the interest of dog shows, matches, trials, and tests. We encourage sportsmanlike competition at such events under the rules and regulations of The American Kennel Club. Promoting community activities with an emphasis on canine education, safety, and the advancement of the animal welfare of purebred and companion dogs in our area.

Our members train and show in Obedience, Agility, Conformation, Tracking, Herding, Barn Hunts, Nose Work, Lure Coursing, Weight Pull, and Rally.   We have many members who actively participate in therapy visits and demonstrations at various venues.  Club members also serve as trainers for local 4-H dog project clubs.
